We're Bill and Kim Dean and we've been in the corriente business since 1993, when we bought our first two scrawny little heifers. Little did we know what we were getting ourselves into: years of fun, friends, and adventures...
It all started when Bill asked some fellow ropers this question: "Where are the mothers to all these roping steers?" Some bright individual spoke up and declared that they "didn't have mothers...." After checking around we found a few rugged individuals raising corriente cattle here in Texas. We decided that instead of paying someone every month to lease their steers, we would raise our own. Instead of throwing hay to someone else's stock, we'd feed our own critters. We've never regretted this decision.
When we found out that you could actually show a corriente, we were definitely interested. We were hooked when we found out that we didn't have to wash, clip, dry, shear, spray or otherwise "beautify" the show stock. We both had grown up showing nearly every species of livestock you could show--we were thrilled to experience the fun of showing livestock without a lot of the back-breaking labor.
After almost 10 years of showing corriente cattle across the nation--from Wyoming to Tennessee and everywhere in between--we gained many things: tried and true friends, memories of fun times (and a few challenging times) and a wide network of like-minded folks who also love the ranching industry and everything it involves.
We're always ready to visit with other corrientes raisers and show off our stock. Give us a call or send us an email. We'd love to hear from you.
